Ambrose Uren is a comedian although he grew up spinning on his head as a b-boy. It turns out the two artforms have quite a few similarities, and Ambrose was able to translate some of what he learned on the dancefloor to the stage. His work ethic has helped him find success in both fields, having toured overseas with both his breakdancing and his comedy.
In this episode, we reflect on a youth spent breakdancing and how it helped form his artistic identity, the 11 year journey to being a full-time comedian, and what he learned from doing 4 shows a day at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Enjoy.
